History

Gitwe is the name of the land on which one of the washing stations is built, which produces part of Rwanda's production of the most valued batches of specialty coffees. Despite being the smallest in size (it covers an area of ​​less than one hectare), it is situated in a particularly advantageous location, high up in a mountain valley at an altitude of almost 2000 metres above sea level: just 3 km from Gatare and close to the village of Kamina.

In 2018 it was acquired by Rwanda Trading Company where this company has renewed the
coffee processing stations and training programs organized for small farmers, supporting and helping them to produce superior quality coffee. Despite its size, it involves 1,020 farmers who produce 500 tons of very good coffee.

The vibrant notes of this coffee are accompanied by a body and fruity sweetness that combine harmoniously with the floral notes of white tea, developing a beautiful and fresh acidity.
